Mural for the City of Surrey, British Columbia
This two panel mural is part of the project to revitalize the Newton Area in Surrey. New construction to encourage the use of outdoor public spaces, includes a new Park and lake, the creation of new pathways connecting the public buildings in this area, and the renovation of existing outdoor areas. The Mural, installed February 2016, is located on the east facing wall of the Newton Senior Centre in close proximity to the Reservoir Lake, Library, and the Newton Arena. The final renovation of the green space will see the creation of an outdoor plaza with seating areas.
About the Mural Drawings: In this area of Newton we find a small forest, a large field, and many small areas of vegetation – all contributing to the life and character of the neighborhood. These areas are not spectacular examples of landscape; nevertheless, they are rich in detail and beauty, waiting to be noticed. We do not have to go far – there is inspiration to be found right in our backyard.
