About the Mural Drawings: The mural drawings depict the foliage and environment of two locations immediately around the Senior Centre and Library Area. In this area of Newton we find a small forest, a large field, and many small areas of vegetation – all contributing to the life and character of the neighborhood. These areas are not spectacular examples of landscape; nevertheless, these are places rich in detail and beauty waiting to be noticed.

2. Drawings from the Window
These images document interior spaces where the man-made environment and the natural landscape are brought together by that most pictorial of architectural elements: the window. Drawn from direct observation, these are the interiors as they appeared, ordered and serene, punctuated by the picture revealed in the negative space of the window - a montage of natural growth and rational organization, urban and rustic, reduction and exuberance

Using augmented reality technology, moments of everyday life are captured against the backdrop of local public outdoor spaces and parks across Surrey and its surrounding region. Each location is captured both as a photograph and as a 3D scan created on location. Each photograph contains within it a latent image - a three-dimensional photographic recreation that, when revealed, like the latent thought in Freud's theory of dreams, offers potentially different narratives and new layers of meaning. Through this virtual view, viewers can move in for a closer look, or look behind objects to reveal elements not initially visible in the photo.

4. Reflected City
These photographs capture views in the City of Richmond from the point of view of a typical passerby – depicting both the detail of the ground beneath their feet, and the sky above their heads in a single image. My images recreate the fragmented view of nature in an urban setting, experienced through glimpses and fragments. These photos are a collage captured on location, focusing on a small patch opf ground and a mirror reflecting the structures overhead.
The contrast between the rigid forms of the human-made, and the exuberance of natural growth, speaks to the complex and fragile balance between human activity and the ecosystem that is part of the city.
