Life Here & The Photographer
Photographs with Augmented Reality Interactivity (AR)
This is a preview site and production journal of the projects in progress: Life Here and The Photographer. The are two series of images: photos depicting everyday scenes that can be experienced as 3D images, and a series depicting photographers from the region as they capture the landscape or cityscape. Please contact Paulo Majano for information on participating in the projects. Contact Link Who is the Photographer? |

About Life here
The images made for this project will create a portrait of the cities around Vancouver by depicting aspects of everyday life set against the backdrop of the local landscape.
Here, scenes photographed locally will reveal the drama of everyday life. When each photograph is viewed with a smartphone or tablet using an augmented reality app it becomes a three dimensional image where the viewer can look into the scene and behind objects to see elements that are not visible in the original framed picture. The viewer assumes the role of photographer as they choose where to look by moving the mobile phone camera. __________________ About Augmented Reality (AR) Augmented Reality is a technology that allows the overlay of digital content such as 3D graphics, images, or video, over views of the world in real time. In this project, the photographs can be viewed as interactive three-dimensional images when viewed with a Smartphone (or digital tablet) and the AR App Junaio. Using the smarphone camera, viewers can look into the scene, and see it from different points of view to reveal elements that are not visible in the photograph, they assume the role of photographer as they choose where to look by moving the mobile phone camera.
